WINTER TOLLWOOD – MUNICH’S WINTER CULTURAL FESTIVAL

The Tollwood Winter Festival attracts visitors from near and far for several weeks and is widely regarded as one of the city’s most extraordinary Christmas markets.

Arts, Delicacies & Atmosphere

On the festival grounds, guests can look forward to a vibrant mix of international arts and crafts, culinary specialties from around the world and a culturally diverse, atmospheric setting. One of the most popular areas is the “Market of Ideas”, where regional manufacturers, artisans and creators from various countries showcase their products.

Culinarily, Tollwood is a highlight in itself: many food stalls are organic certified, and the range spans from winter classics to vegetarian and vegan dishes as well as specialties from distant regions. Warming drinks such as mulled wine, punch or hot coconut drinks are, of course, part of the experience.

Culture, Sustainability & Changing Festival Themes

For many years, Tollwood has stood for culture, environmental awareness and social responsibility. Each year, the festival presents its own theme – these change regularly and reflect current developments. One example: in 2025, the motto is “Now More Than Ever! For Peace, Democracy & the Environment.”
In this way, the festival continually sets new impulses and combines entertainment with purpose.

Show Acts & Evening Programmes

In addition to the market and food stalls, Tollwood offers a rich cultural programme every year: acrobatic shows, theatre, concerts, performances and walk-acts provide entertainment and surprise visitors with fresh ideas and international artists. The main shows are often among the most popular highlights, blending music, movement and expressive stage design into a memorable performance.

New Year’s Eve at Tollwood

The Winter Festival is also well known for its New Year’s Eve celebration: live bands, DJ sets and several themed areas make the turn of the year a special experience. Those seeking a culinary treat can often reserve a multi-course dinner and then continue directly into the night’s festivities.

Whether as a market experience, cultural inspiration or festive year-end celebration – the Tollwood Winter Festival remains a place of diversity, creativity and pure joie de vivre year after year.

We look forward to sharing a colourful, international Christmas season in Munich with you!
